Help on using this website

Thank you for visiting my website - I hope you find it useful.

Registration

You do not have to register to use this site, but I encourage you to do so. Registration is free! and will allow you to access additional areas and participate in the forums. Customers of ProCount will need to register to access their special support areas.

To register, click on one of the register links to take you to the registration page. You will need to select a unique username and a password which you will need to enter when you visit the site to login. You must provide a valid email address. A registration email will be sent to this address with a link which you must select to validate your email address. Once you have accessed this link, you will be able to login to the site.

If you belong to a model car racing club, please select it from the pull-down listbox. If your club is not listed, please enter your club name in the following box where indicated.

If you would like to receive email when news items are added or files are released, please tick the appropriate boxes.

If you are already a ProCount customer, please indicate by ticking the relevant box to allow you access to the customer support areas when your details have been validated.

You can enter additional details about yourself such as your ICQ or AIM contact numbers, your personal or club website address and any additional comments.

Site Access & authorisation

When browsing some of the pages on the website, you may come across some small padlock images:

	A red padlock indicates you are not authorised to view that item. If you are not already logged in, try logging in. If it is still red, you must be either a ProCount customer or have a valid support contract to access that item. If you think you should have access to a particular item but are denied, please let me know.
	A green padlock indicates that the item is a secured item, but you do have the appropriate rights to view the item.

Changing Your Registration

Once you have registered, you can change your registration details by going to the My Account page. Please note that if you change your email address you will have to revalidate your email address as above.

Adding users to your address book

Also on the My Account page, you can view a list of all other users who have registered. You can add any of them to your own personal address book so that you can send them User Messages. They will be notified of any messages waiting for them the next time they login to the site.

User Messages

You can view all messages sent to you from the User Messages page. This page also allows you to send messages to other users who you have entered into your personal address book.

News

From the My Account page you can submit News items for inclusion on the website. All news items will be moderated by the Webmaster before being posted.

All News Items and Announcements are posted on the News page. The most recent news items are also posted on the Home page.

Each news item consists of a title, a short description and a long description. To view the long description, select the "click here for more..." link to expand the news item. News items belong to various categories. You can view all the news items in a particular category by clicking on the "more from same" link.

Forums

Forums are like bulletin boards which allow users to post messages for each other. Unlike User Messages, these forum messages are public and visible to all users who can access that Forum. They provide a community where users can assist each other by replying to each other's messages and answering questions posed etc.

If you are going to post a message, please make sure it is posted in the appropriate Forum. However, you should first check that the question has not already been asked by another user in the Forum by browsing past messages, or searching for messages with the same subject. Frequently asked questions are also placed in the FAQ, so make sure you have a look there first aswell.

Downloads

The Downloads section allows you to view all of the files available for download, grouped into categories. Clicking on the file name will display a page posssibly showing more information about that file. To download the file, click on the floppy disk icon -

Comments

Many pages on this website allow you to enter comments. Where you see this small icon , you can click on it to view any existing comments, or to add your own comments.
